A letter from Richard Little Bear

AKA: Richard Red Hawk:

Hi Folks;
The trip to Arizona was great.  Did my assigned tasks and had some
additional playtime.

Spent a couple of days in Flagstaff enjoying the mountains and Lowe
observatory.  Got some great looks at the Sun explosions.  Went on to
spend several days in Sedona.  It sure has changed lots.

We can no
longer mosey on over to the caves and pictographs.  The Parks and
Forests have taken over.  We cannot park anyplace without paying a $5.00
fee and they have "guards" all over that "explain" to us what we are
looking at. No longer are we allowed to "experience" Sedona, only stand
back and observe it.  Because of this, I was not able to smoke the pipe
or leave tobacco or corn anyplace that we used to do ceremony.  None of
the medicine wheels are any longer in existence (physically).  I did
manage to climb Bell rock once again.

There is no tourist stand at the
top of the mountain yet, but not so at the base.  The Park service was
always so strict at anyone touching the natural growth; it was a crime
to just look at it crosswise.  Now they have ripped it all up and set up
a tourist bus stop, horse trails, hiking paths, bike paths etc.  Many
quiet prayers were said for the park service desecrations of the lands
they have been hired to protect.  Same type of "improvements" with the
areas at Red Rock crossing, and Cathedral Rock.

Katchina Woman has not changed much. Coffee Pot restaurant has had a fresh makeover but the atmos- phere is still wonderful. Spent the last
few days visiting friends and doing the art shops in Phoenix.

Warm hugs to everyone.

Rick

Moon Drums

by

Wynn  Johnson

Fall 2000

Myst swirls, ‘round naked feet. Footsteps tread

on hazy beach

Voices soft

in ancient rite,

Lunar shadows

golden light,

Arms rise

entwined like snakes.

In ancient dance,

rattles shake.

Pounding hands on tightened skin.

Ecstatic height.

Charge the circle’s energy…

orgasmic delight.

Swirling faster,

heated passion,

Old Ones wake,

in tribal fashion.

Pounding rhythms,

in the night.

Moon drums peak…

ethereal delight.

How water reflects our consciousness

Water has a very important message for us. Water is telling us to take a much deeper look at our selves. When we do look at our selves through the mirror of water, the message becomes amazingly, crystal, clear. We know that human life is directly connected to the quality of our water, both within and all around us.

MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE
OF GRAND MOTHER EARTH

June 2001

It appears United States Senators Grassley and Leahy, longtime supporters of justice and fairness, may be the last hope for monitoring “federal bureau of investigation (FBI)” alleged misconduct. It is the duty and legal responsibility of high paid professionals - billionaires such as the FBI - to supply each shred of evidence (whether for or against) to the defense of an accused person. That’s the way the legal system is set up.

Contact Mr. Grassley and Mr. Leahy to support a complete congressional investigation into past and present misconduct by the FBI. Americans must stand up for their legal system and for what they believe is right regardless of how powerful and untouchable the FBI may seem.

One obstacle to justice, however, for people like Leonard Peltier (whose legal defense team was denied over 12 thousand documents proving his innocence by the FBI) and Joseph Stuntz - who was murdered by unknown FBI agents in Pine Ridge in 1975 and which has yet to be investigated - may be the new majority leader, democrat Senator Daschle. He seems to hang on to a special interest against Indian nations because his state of South Dakota wants Indian lands for illegal ‘state’ taxation. Hopefully, Daschle’s personal interests do not cast a shadow over what’s right.
