Buffalo
Leather Top Grain
The American Bison is native to the North American continent. Buffalo has a soft
texture and can be split to a heavy thickness. The unique soft feel and pebbled
nature of the grain, makes it a favorite for bags and moccasins. All buffalo
hides are cut in half and the average size of each side ranges between 18 and 22
square feet.
BUFFALO LEATHER: We actually have two thicknesses of our buffalo leather. We have leather at 5 ounces and leather at 7 ounces. If you are making apparel items or bags, we recommend that you use the 5 ounce leather since it is lighter and more flexible. If you want to make moccasins, we recommend the thicker hide.
